Union Hill Continues to Expand with Acquisition of Downtown Property Adding Nearly 100 New Apartment Homes

Redevelopment of Residence Inn on Main includes $190,000 donation of furnishings to Habitat for Humanity ReStore as part of transformation into Platinum style residences 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (April 27, 2017) – Union Hill continues to invest and commit to the downtown area with the acquisition of a residential development now preleasing for summer 2017 occupancy. The property located at 2975 Main Street brings 96 new apartment homes to Union Hill increasing its collection of properties in the vibrant downtown district. The new development is perched on the highest point of Main Street overlooking the downtown skyline and 260 acres of park land.

Union Hill will transform the property into its Platinum Living apartment homes with renovations and enhancements that include simulated wood plank flooring, gated off-street parking, an outdoor pool, and vaulted ceilings in select units. Furniture and interior items valued at $190,000 from the former Marriott Residence Inn including 96 doors, 84 rooms of carpet, 96 nightstands, 48 coffee tables, 48 end tables, 48 accent chairs, 104 desks and chairs, 152 lamps, and 192 pieces of art are being donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStore. ReStore is a branch of Habitat for Humanity that focuses on salvaging materials in order to give the public affordable options to rebuild and restore the community. “We are so grateful for this generous donation from Union Hill and the impact it will have for our Habitat for Humanity Kansas City families,” said David Krumbolz, vice president Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City ReStore. “Thank you for helping us build strength, stability, and selfreliance in the Kansas City community.”
