Union Hill Garden Tour – June 8, 2014

As Union Hill continues construction to fully complete the historic neighborhood’s residential component, the public is invited to stroll through the neighborhood and enjoy its vibrant gardens and historical ambiance at the 19th annual Union Hill Garden Tour on Sunday, June 8. The self-guided tours will run from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Home owners, expert gardeners and volunteers will be available along the tour to field any questions and provide gardening tips. In addition to the garden tours, the nearly-completed Taylor Building, a multi-family, 23-unit building inspired by Chicago’s Lincoln Park, will be open for tours at 230 E. 30th Street. Also open for tours will be newly built homes for sale at 3015 McGee Street and 3008 DeGroff Way.

What:  19th annual Union Hill Garden Tour

Date/Time: June 8, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Location: The self-guided tours begin at 31st Street and Grand Ave.

Admission: $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (60 years and up). Children 12 and under are free. Cash only!

Parking: Complimentary parking is available in the KCPT lots at 31st Street and Grand Ave.

Beneficiary: A portion of proceeds from the 19th annual Union Hill Garden Tour will benefit the Union Cemetery Historical Society, an organization that works to restore, maintain and preserve the burial records of Kansas City’s oldest public cemetery, Union Cemetery.
